“This Cold Escape” by Amos the Transparent is definitely their best album to date. The songs flow extremely well from one to the next, and the instrumentation throughout is amazing. If you’re a fan of the band and you listen closely, you’ll hear references to previous albums interleaved into the lyrics. For their album release at the Rivoli, the band performed the album start to finish non-stop. Brilliantly executed.
Just prior to Amos the Transparent, the band Xprime put on one of the happiest sets I’ve seen in a while. With a few songs that sounds straight out of 1979, it was hard not to get caught up in their great performance. Pretty enjoyable stuff.
