![]() Here's a song that's been in my collection for two years now that my iTunes decided to play for me on Sunday. The way I ended up with this track is unique: In August 2007, I was up North at a friend's cottage in the fairly remote town of Restoule, Ontario. It had been a great day that included beers down at the dock and lots of wine with dinner. At night, we could hear a party going on down the lake a bit, so a few of us went to check it out. When we got there, we witnessed (and possibly participated in) some dry-land boat racing, cheered on a bit of near-naked volleyball, and listened to this guy playing guitar. He would setup a series of loops with his guitar and a loop pedal, and then play and sing along with the loops... it was pretty incredible hearing it all come together and all from one person. I spoke to him afterwards, and ended up with a home-burned CD of his music. When iTunes played it for me Sunday, I was in the right mood for it, and it made me want to share it: Make Something Right - Jami LefebvreI spoke with Jami recently and found out that he has just finished recording another album, but hasn't been out playing live shows yet. This is partially due to his current location, but says he'll be moving closer to Toronto in the next couple of months and is hoping to hook up with a band. Have a listen to his more recent Wilco-inspired compositions on MySpace (I recommend Addiction) and let him know what you think. And if you're in a band with similar influences and looking for a guitar-player and/or singer, it may worth to contacting him. Info & Connect: Jami Lefebvre on MySpace. |
